Outdoor Education Excursion
On the 9th of October both Year 10 Outdoor Education groups went to Urbnsurf near Melbourne Airport for a ‘Learn to Surf’ session, where the water temperature was a chilly 14 degrees. Firstly, students learnt how to lay on a board and how to jump up and position their feet. It was then time to take their surfboards into the water and test out their skills. With the help of two instructors per group, each student was able show off what they had learnt by riding the waves. By the end of the session, almost every student had been able to stand up on the surfboard, whether it was for a few seconds or the whole way to the shore. It was an amazing new experience for all students and great practise for our surf camp coming up soon.
