Marrung Lead

The Always was, Always will be Student Team were invited to present the incredible work they have been doing at our school by the KESO team and Richard Lambert the Senior Education Improvement Leader at the Department.

The team filmed an updated version of what they shared at school council. This was shown to over 100 Marrung Lead educators from different schools and Department of Education staff from the Inner East North Eastern Victorian Region.

We have many schools who would like to visit our school and see how we do what we do!

Our RAP - Reconciliation Action Plan

We are celebrating the work our school has achieved so far and what we are striving towards in our school's Reconciliation Action Plan.

OUR VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Together at ASPS, we aim to foster a culturally inclusive School that values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and all diverse communities whilst building lifelong connections.

We will strengthen and nurture relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities and strive to grow our knowledge and understanding of the First People’s histories, cultures and contributions, and seek to respectfully learn from them. We acknowledge that respect and understanding are intertwined. Through critical reflection and action, history can influence our future.

We strive to create opportunities for authentic actions towards reconciliation. In doing so, we will enrich all members of our community and support future First Nations leaders in Australia.

Read about our school's RAP actions over at Narragunnawalli.

This is a great landmark in our reconciliation work as we continue our journey. Much gratitude to all involved so far! Ngoon ngodjin!

We will have a special celebration assembly on Wednesday 15th November with special guests. More information to come!

Woiwurrung Word of the Week

"Ngoon-godgin" means "thank you". Thanks to the KESO team for sharing these Woiwurrung words.

Bangaraa's Yuldea

27 September – 7 October

Arts Centre

From the incomparable storytellers of Bangarra Dance Theatre comes a major new work.

We are memory. Glimpsed through shimmering light on water. A story place where black oaks stand watch. Carved into trees and painted on rocks. North – South – East – West. A brittle landscape of life and loss. A celestial symphony crossing time and space.

At Yuldea, stories hover in the sky. The stars reveal a divine Songline, stretching between earth and sky.

Frances Rings’ first work as Artistic Director is a ceremonial affirmation of history and heritage. Yuldea awakens the earth and sky worlds to tell the story of the Aṉangu people of the Great Victorian Desert.
