Learning Conferences

Thank you to our parents and carers for taking the time to attend a Student Learning Progress meeting with your child and their teacher so far. The purpose of these threeway meetings are to:

  • Engage families in richer, more transparent conversations about progress in student learning.
  • Encourage students to take responsibility and ownership for their learning by involving them in the goal-setting and assessment process.
  • Discuss opportunities to support student learning at home.

Please see the early feedback that has been collected so far from parents who have attended these meetings:

Learning conferences help build a strong sense of community within our school. They create an environment where everyone is invested in the success of our students; fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that can positively impact the  overall educational experience that we provide.

If you have already attended a student learning progress meeting and were not able to complete the feedback survey at the time, please feel free to follow this link to share your thoughts.

The Power of Reading

'Access to books and the encouragement of the habit of reading: these two things are the first and most necessary steps in education... It is our children's right and it is also our best hope and their best hope for the future.'

Michael Morpurgo

Teaching students to read, both to access information and for enjoyment, is one of the most important jobs in education. It allows students to access learning, think critically and explore many worlds. The image below clearly explain the benefits of reading for 20 minutes each night.

It is undeniable that a child’s reading skills are important to their success in school, work, and life in general. Please take the time to read to your child or alongside your child each night. For older children, encourage for them to just sit and independently read each night. Fostering a love of reading will increase their access to rich vocabulary and in-turn enable them to experience further success during school and life in general.

Welcome Mrs Noad

We welcome Mrs Emma Noad to our Canteen Team. Emma started work on Monday and will be an excellent addition to our school.  Welcome Emma!

Sad News

Please keep our lovely staff members Deb Rafferty and Katrina Ashford in your prayers. On Monday we celebrated the life of Lloyd Allen (Katrina's dad) and tomorrow we will join Deb and her family at Mary Help of Christians for the funeral service of Deb's husband Steve Rafferty. Thank you for your support of the school during these challenging times.

Until next week,

Keep Smiling
