Principal's News

Mrs Gabrielle Espenschied

Dear Parents,

I  begin by recognising the sacred ground we are walking on, the traditional custodians of the land and the people past, present and future who will walk in our wonderful country.

Pope Francis asks for our global community to discover and implement common solutions to bring hope for all the world and for people to be on a pathway to ensure peace and love in the world.

One world, one people: our common home.

Humanity has the ability to work together for the common good - everything is connected - all creatures, all nature and all humans. Pope Francis asks that, because everything is connected, each must be treated with love and respect.

Our theme for this week is showing gratitude, kindness and compassion. When I reflect on happenings both around the world and in our country, I urge our wonderful community to keep focused on humanity.

Our Catholic social teachings and social expectations in our school are:

  • Be an example of Jesus' love,
  • Believe in yourself,
  • Be responsible for your choices,
  • Be stewards of God's earth
  • Respect the dignity and individuality of everyone,
  • Work with others for the common good of all,
  • See a need and take action.

May we lead the way with our daily actions: being role models to our students to always have a focus on the vulnerable and disadvantaged, both in our country and in the world, and to focus on peace and love, providing a voice for every person to flourish and shine in all they set out to do.

Congratulations to our senior students on a wonderful Urban camp. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to attend for a night and spend time with this magnificent group of students. A huge thank you to David Worthington for leading the camp and to James Corkhill, Robyn Benoiton, Jacob Rowler and Natalie Dullard for attending and supporting the students throughout the camp.

Part of our theme for this week is saying thank you. On Thursday 26th of October, we will have ‘Hats off to our staff day”. On this day, students can wear an alternative hat and we ask that they write a little note to their teachers, leaders, support staff and admin team.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
