Learning, growing and celebrating together...

Dear Sacred Heart Kew Families,

Welcome back to Term Four. I hope that all families were able to find some sun and warmth over the school holiday break. Congratulations to all our Collingwood supporters who continue to celebrate their Grand Final victory. What a game! Well done to the best team on the day. A memorable day for the Magpie Army.

We look forward to many things this term. In particular, our School Musical - ‘Disney The Lion King Jr’ on Monday night.

Since the start of the year, countless hours have been spent as auditions were held, rehearsals began, with our very talented students transforming themselves into an array of animals and playful characters from the wild. Throughout this time, we’ve had the pleasure to watch our students morph into the animals and characters you will see here tonight, delighting in their courage and talent, admiring their confidence to sing, dance and act on stage in front of an audience. All our students’ energy and enthusiasm truly astounds, every single one of them.

For animals from any environment to thrive and survive, they need dedicated and passionate guides watching over them, allowing them to grow and develop, so they can mature and fend for themselves out in the big wide world. One of these dedicated and passionate guides who we are most grateful and appreciative for, is Mrs Libby Mulhall, our Performing Arts teacher. I extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Libby and her team, for their vision, coordination and organisation of our performance of ‘Disney The Lion King Jr’. Thanks also to all our staff members for their support of this event and for pitching in whenever the call was put out. I also extend my thanks to all our parents for their generosity and efforts, supporting our Performing Arts program, providing us with their time and expertise, whenever help was needed. Thank you to all school community members for embracing the rebirth of our School Musical. This performance will not disappoint.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend. See you all on Monday for the BIG day and night.

Kind Regards,

Ed Weekes
