Gimmel Camp

On the first day of Term 4, the Gimmel students set out for camp at Sovereign Hill. We arrived on a warm, sunny afternoon and enjoyed the enormous playground and a delicious dinner.
On our first night, we participated in the Aura experience, a dazzling light and sound show about the goldfields.
"I learned that I can say stuff in Welsh. Bore Da means hello."- Eli B
The following days were cold and rainy as we suited up for the Sovereign Hill Costumed Schools experience.
Students and staff were dressed in 1850s clothes and attended the St Peter's Denominational School, taught by a very strict Ma'am.
We learned all about life and schooling on the goldfields, participated in mine tours, panned for gold, and watched a gold pour demonstration and pantomime. What a terrific experience!
"I liked it when Ma'am, our teacher, smacked the table with a stick or a leather belt." - Micah Scholar
"Master Jeremiah, perhaps if you stopped growing, your shirt would be longer!" - Ma'am, our Teacher
On our final evening, we went into town for some games of laser tag, where the students took great pleasure in shooting up Mr. Joel.
Our last day saw us attend the Eureka Education Centre and then a very educational trip to the local indoor trampoline centre.
"I liked going on the trampolines, and going to see Ma'am." - Megan
