The Arts are Alive at Saints

What a year it has been

Visual Art has provided opportunities for the boys to demonstrate their artistry in our community, locally and statewide. Our students either won competitions, came second or received highly commendable recognition. Our Visual Art teachers have mentored our students beautifully, supporting their artistic endeavours.

This year we worked hard to open the world of film to our junior students. Mr McCarthy organised a short film competition for students to learn from seniors the how to of storytelling for film. Emilio Tolland from Year 9 won our inaugural film competition. We look forward to greater films from our juniors next year.

Lastly, Drama has provided a most fantastic opportunity for our students to participate in our boys-only Drama Club. Drama teacher Phoebe Ballard  has mentored her students beautifully. Creating a fantastic opportunity, showcasing the talent of our students in our production of Treasure Island. The feedback from audience members has been fantastic. We look forward to producing greater opportunities for our students in Drama Cub in 2024.

On behalf of our teachers in the arts: Toby McCarthy (Film & TV), Shauna McGovern and Kathy Almond (Visual Art), Phoebe Ballard and me (Drama), we thank you for your support in 2023. We look forward to bringing further opportunities to your sons in 2024.
