Whitlam Institute Writing Competition
'What Matters?'
In Term Two, Year Six students were invited to enter an optional writing competition run by The Whitlam Institute. The competition was open to students across Australia in Years Five to Twelve, and required students to respond to the prompt 'What Matters?'. Students considered issues that were important to them, their families, communities and the world and wrote about a wide range of issues from the environment to the importance of kindness. Across all ages, the competition received 4,991 entries from 691 schools.
We would like to congratulate and thank all students who took the time to submit an entry to the competition.
We would especially like to congratulate Alexandra Leah Chin for her entry 'Umbrella Deed', which made it to the Year 5/6 2023 shortlist. An amazing effort and a beautiful piece!
