From the Principal

Rudy Vail

Dear OLHC Community,

Welcome back, everyone, to Term 2!  It's truly a joy to see our classrooms bustling once again with the laughter and energy of our students. I hope that you all had a restful and rejuvenating break.

Anzac Day

As we approach Anzac Day, we extend a warm invitation to families to join us in commemorating this significant event. Last year, our school leaders solemnly laid a wreath during the Eltham RSL dawn service, and this year, we continue to honour this tradition.

Anzac Day holds deep significance for Australians and New Zealanders, as it marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I. It is a day of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women, both past and present.

We believe that it is important for children to recognise the importance of Anzac Day and understand the sacrifices made by those who served our country. By participating in such ceremonies children learn about the values of courage, mateship, and sacrifice that lie at the heart of the Anzac spirit.

Our school's involvement in the Eltham RSL dawn service provides a meaningful opportunity for our students to honour the memory of those who have served and to show their gratitude for the peace and prosperity they have inherited.

Eltham RSL dawn service will commence at the corner of Main Road and Dudley Street at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, the 25th of April.

2025 Enrolment Applications

Just a quick reminder to all parents and guardians: if you have a child eligible to join our school in 2025, we would really appreciate it if you could submit their application soon to help us with our planning.

Open Day

Our School Open Day is set for Monday, May 6th. This event is an excellent opportunity for families interested in our school to get a closer look. Please mark your calendars and spread the word to anyone who might be interested.

We need your help from our families to promote our school. Here's what you can do:

  • Leave a positive review on Google.
  • Share our school and Open Day posts on local and personal Facebook pages.
  • Hand out flyers at local events or libraries.
  • Drop off flyers at nearby kindergartens.

Your support in spreading the word about our school is greatly appreciated. Let us know if you can help.

Kind regards

Rudy Vail
