Secondary School
Year 7
Science
Year 7 students, in their continuing studies of working scientifically, were this week issued with their Bunsen Burner licences! They were required to display safe and proper use of the Bunsen Burner, which included setting it up correctly, lighting a match, turning on the gas and knowing which colour flame, blue or yellow, to use in which conditions.
Year 8

Our Year 8 students have recently been testing the conductivity of different metals.
Food Drive
As part of our commitment to the Season of Lent, Year 8 are being asked to be considerate of others, particularly the poor and the marginalised. To showcase this, we're encouraging all Year 8 students to participate in our food collection initiative. All donations will be gratefully received up until Wednesday 27 March.
Community Engagement and Volunteering
This term, in my Community Engagement and Volunteering elective, I have been helping out across our school. So far, I have helped in the library, sorting out books and putting them away, assisting Mr. Gibbs’s class in English and Math, as well as going around the school doing small jobs. My favourite part of my experience in volunteering this term would have been helping the Year 6s with their work. Volunteering this term has helped me be more compassionate to others.

This semester I have chosen to do Community Engagement and Volunteering as one of my electives. So far, we have done many activities and we have gone to Echuca Twin Rivers Specialist School. In single lessons we stay in the school and help out the Resource Centre or help out the teachers in the primary school with their classes. In double lessons we travel to Twin Rivers to help them out with their activities. I am enjoying this experience because I get to help out people in the community. I have learnt a lot from this subject, such as teamwork and communication.

We would like to extend our thanks to Mrs McMaster who works with us during our Community Engagement and Volunteering sessions and Mrs Westblade who has organised all of our placements.
Year 10
PASS
Over the past two weeks, our Year 10 PASS students have been developing their coaching skills by guiding Year 3 and Year 4 classes through a range of outdoor sporting activities, including sprinting, high jump, shot put and long jump. The Year 10 students were tasked with explaining their activity and providing feedback to the younger students.
