From the Business Manager

Gunbower Estate update

During the course of Term 1, 2024 much behind the scenes work has been undertaken at Gunbower Estate, in preparation for student access in Semester 1. A special thanks to Site Manager Dean Walton for coordinating a series of essential services checks, initial site clearing to remove hazards and the installation of a ring water main in preparation for future works. A site survey is underway, which is the starting point for a future masterplan. Additionally considerable work has been completed on a site operations manual which is essential to ensure safe environments for students, visitors and staff.  Comprehensive ‘roadmaps’ are being developed for the Campus as a whole, the Homestead and a Challenge Ropes Course.

We are very excited to have also commenced planning for the installation of a Challenge Ropes Course (subject to council approval). An experienced Challenge Ropes builder visited our Gunbower campus recently, and concept designs are now being explored.  Challenge Ropes courses are designed to build confidence, develop teamwork, trust,  communication skills and leadership skills. They are also lots of fun for students! We will keep our school community informed regarding the progress of this project.

We very much look forward to our students beginning to access our Gunbower site during Term 2.

Signage

Our new signage has been a great addition to our School and is a warm welcome to anyone who passes by! If you are driving along the Cobb Highway at night time, you will see it illuminate - a great symbol of the bright future at MAG! Thank you to Tanya for designing and sourcing our new signage.

AGM

The AGM is planned for Thursday 30 May 2024. Information regarding the Board Nominations Process, and the Notice of Meeting will be distributed to members early Term 2.
