Sport Competition

Swimming Carnival

It was hot. It was wet. It was fun. Our Swimming Carnival (Wednesday 28 February) was truly a festival around water with 'processions, music, dancing and the use of masquerade'. The facilities at Oakleigh offers water play and space for games which kept competitors and aqua players cool and happy.

Interschool Competition

Reports prepred by teams from recent interschool Round Robins.

Year 8 Cricket

On Friday 15 March the MGSC Year 8 Cricket team played Yavner College in a 15 over game. We travelled to Highett Reserve and got the opportunity to practise our Batting and Bowling before the other school arrived. Throughout the day dogs disturbed us by running through the game but it didn't matter because they were really cute. The end score was 128-195 and we won! Our biggest scorer was Artemis and the person who took the most wickets was Leticia but everyone played really well. Overall, it was a great experience and we can't wait to verse new schools in the next round. Go MGSC!

Year 8 Volleyball

On the15 March, bright and early in the morning, the A & B Volleyball teams headed off to Dandenong Stadium to compete against other schools. The day began with a win for each team and everyone was constantly involved, whether they were playing on the court, scoring for the game or just being supportive peers on the sidelines! The A team won 2 out of 3 games, and the B team won 3 out of 4 games! Overall we are all super proud of our accomplishments and the effort that was put into training and gameplay. Our highlights of the day include having fun rallys in between games, our awesome serving, cheering for each other when it was super close and everyone communicating during games! We had such an amazing time competing and spending time with our friends!

Intermediate Volleyball

On Tuesday 20 February,  we attended the Intermediate volleyball Round Robin and despite our defeat, we tried our best and we had fun. We also had some amazing rallies.  Miri did any amazing job at serving. Karina did a spectacular dive to save points against MacRob. Khando had some fabulous spikes and blocks at the net too. As a team we managed to win two great games. We cheered on Prahan Secondary College in the final.
