Out and About

Year 10 Outdoor Education

Surf

Students in Year 10 Outdoor Education travelled to Tullamarine on Friday 1 March to participate in a learn to surf session at Urbn Surf. What a great day out, the weather was spectacular, and the waves were pumping! Everyone managed to get up and ride a wave, a great experience prior to surf camp later in the term. As a class we will be exploring the differences between artificial and natural outdoor environments, so it was great to explore the set up at Urbn Surf and have a go at the artificial wave!

Turf

Our second Year 10 Outdoor Education excursion took us to the beautiful Point Nepean National Park. Students completed a 10km hike along the trail, discovering the fort that was developed during World War I and II to protect Port Philip Bay. We were lucky to see the echidna along the trail and reflect on the flora and fauna that would habitat this area.

Lorne Camp

The term is finishubg with a three day camp at Lorne. This is what you experience before an early morning surf.

Year 11 VCE Physical Education

Eearlier this month, our Year 11 Physical Education went to The Light Practice Yoga Studio in Moorabbin. We have been studying the impact of our environment in regards to meeting physical activity guidelines and researching different forms of activity to meet the demands of the community, different age groups and abilities. An amazing session that included a vinyasa flow, balances and finished with a beautiful meditation and sound bath.
