School Holiday Programs

The school holidays are creeping up fast after a short term one. Here are some activities on offer for children and young people.

 

From Mornington Peninsula Youth Services:

10 – 17-year-olds can join fun, free activities our youth centres these school holidays. Hang out in a safe relaxing space and enjoy free wifi, video games, pool tables, art supplies, games and food! No need to book for activities held in the centres each day; just come along and join the fun. Excursions are to the Hijinx Hotel, Chadstone; and stand up paddle boarding. Places are limited so no guarantees of a place.

Events at The Briars:

Events at the Mornington Community House:

Events at the Mornington Peninsula libraries:

Based around the theme Under the Sea, the libraries are offering free activities: Dolphin Institute Marine Show; Hungry Shark Animation Game; Jiggly Jellyfish; Meet Seaweed Sally; Octopuses: Underwater Wonders; Sea Life Lego challenge; Under the Sea mobile; Yarny Turtles; and a Zinemaking workshop for teens and tweens. Frankston Youth Services: 

Held in the forecourt in front of the Frankston Library and Youth Service, Open Day on Friday 12 April is a chance for community connection and fun! With inflatables, free hot dog lunch, arts and craft activities, and a chance to dunk a youth worker in the cold water dunk tank, it’s a great day out suitable for all ages. There will also be a cash booth where young people aged 12-24 can enter to win prizes!  

This holiday season offers an array of engaging activities tailored to cater to the diverse interests of the young people in our community. From the LGBTQIA+ Bowling, Craft activities, Cooking Workshops, every program is designed to be safe and inclusive. 

Participants can look forward to activities such as a Cultural experience at NGV and Melbourne Museum, Beatball and Slot Cars!!

By providing these diverse opportunities, Youth Services aims to create a supportive environment where young people can forge connections with people and their community. BOOK NOW - HERE

Other activities on offer are a half day event in Frankston through Your Journey Moira called Choose Your Own Adventure, a game of choices and chance based around learning about housing offering lots of prizes. Note this is for young people 15-18 who are in care and moving towards independence.

Moira are also offering a six week group program around Life & Living Skills for 16 to 25 year olds starting 11 April in Frankston. Learn skills around money management; housing & legal rights; daily living skills; employment, education & training; health & wellbeing; personal development & social connection.
