Performing Arts

In week 6, students from Year 1 to 6 mastered the Nutbush dance routine with perseverance and dedication.

It’s been an absolute blast grooving alongside the students for two weeks and teaching them some timeless classics.

Foundation students are keeping the energy high with their singing and dancing sessions featuring beloved classics like "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "We're Going on a Bear Hunt”.

We’ve also been continuing to engage in different drama games to spark imaginative thinking, such as ‘Drama Freeze’ where students freeze in wild poses, like being splashed with mud or singing their hearts out in the shower.

Year 1 and 2 have been working on their imaginative and improvisation skills this week. Through games such as ‘Teleporting’ where they adapt and act out different scenarios, such as skydiving and surfing.

They’ve also been introduced to a new drama game called "Who's Telling the Truth?" which challenges students to decipher fact from fiction and use their best judgement to determine the truth teller among their peers.

Year 3 and 4 students have been honing their improvisation skills through various drama games. 'Bippity Bippity Bop' is a fast-paced drama game that requires skill in reflexes, memory and teamwork.

From Level 1, where they must quickly respond to the teacher's 'bippity bippity bop,' to Level 4, where they embody characters like Godzilla.

Additionally, they've been engaging in a game of 'Who's Telling the Truth?', delving into the art of storytelling.

Challenged to decipher fact from fiction, they use their observation skills and judgement to uncover the truth teller among their peers.

Year 5 and 6 students have been diving into the world of reader's theatre this week, working on improving their performance skills and exploring what makes a great show. They have been diligently practising their reader's theatre scripts, doing their best to master dialogue delivery and understand the importance of stage presence.

Next week, the Year 5 and 6 students will be showcasing their reader's theatre performances for their peers.
