PBL Update
Thank you to the many families who were able to join us this week at our Catholic Schools Week Welcome and PBL BBQ. PBL stands for Positive Behaviours for Learning and this week we took the first step in our journey by launching the SJJU Values.
At SJJU we value Compassion, Respect and Commitment!
In the coming weeks we will be explicitly teaching, modelling and positively reinforcing what it means to be a compassionate, respectful and committed person. Hopefully these conversations continue at home and on our playground and we see an impact on student behaviour. Our amazing PBL Team has been working hard with staff and students to develop the SJJU Expected Behaviours and Social Skills Matrix which we will workshop with staff, students and parents/carers early next term.
We are fortunate to have the expertise and enthusiasm of Katrina Halliburton, Rebecca Hart, Penny Kerr, Kylee Huard, Joanne Virgona on the PBL Team. Mrs Scott and the other members of the Leadership Team support us closely.
In Term 3 and 4 we will explicitly teach and positively reinforce the targeted skills to students. The lens in which we see the world at SJJU is about to become even more beautiful!
If you have any questions or concerns about our PBL journey, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Warm regards,
Simone Maloney
