Save The Woodlands

Rebecca Hendy

Picture the process of planting a tree – ensuring it has access to fresh soil and moisture.

Now consider the state of the trees in the Woodlands area.

There are 4 parts to the ‘Save the Woodlands’ campaign we need your help with.

  1. BNWPS is an above ground play space – this means that the our tree root fairies have moved on, no longer can we dig around our tree roots to make fairy gardens and play spaces.  Please discuss this with your children to support this change in play time activity.
  2. Donations of rocks required!  Rock fairies have moved in and they need homes – made from rocks and sticks – please bring donations in – large rocks can be left at the Shetland Street gate – just inside next to the basketball court, and they can be moved to the Woodlands area in Term 2.
  3. Designated digging area (for those that something like that during their break time) to be decided – location to be decided for Term 2 away from tree roots.
  4. Stay tuned for more communications on activities to support reinstatement of soil around the tree roots in the Woodlands area – ensuring our school remains the best it can be and consider how you can be involved.
