🛌🏻Cebula Boarding

Boarding News

As we approach the end of the term, it’s been encouraging to see our new boarders settle in well and become part of the Cebula community. Boarding isn’t without its challenges, and I want to commend the new boys on their efforts and thank our returning boarders for the way they’ve supported this process.

The building program continues with site works well underway and more and more happening each day as our new boarding house starts to take shape. In the meantime, we’ve settled 23 boys into Mercy House at St Brigid’s, all of whom have had a great term. Three of the boys will return to Cebula whilst 20 have decided that Mercy House is the “in place to be” and will remain there for Term 2 and beyond.

Last week I visited the Wagin Woolarama and it was lovely to meet up with current and past families, past students as well as new families looking at Mazenod as a schooling option for their sons.

All of us in boarding would like to wish our Chef Manager, Martin, all the very best as he leaves us to spend time with his family overseas. Martin is an absolute treasure - it’s no easy feat to feed 80-plus hungry teenage boys but he does it all so well and will be sadly missed.

I’d like to wish all our boarding community a safe and blessed Easter and a wonderful holiday break. Boarding will close on Wednesday 27 March at 5:00 pm and reopen on Tuesday 16 April at 3:00 pm. The boys will all need their winter uniform to commence Term 2.
