Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK! 

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open until Friday 8 September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

2022 Survey Results

Generally the results are communicated in the Annual Report, they are also discussed at School Council and by staff.

We used last year's results to inform changes to our communication strategy and including more parent forums throughout the year this year.  These forums have been run by the Community Engagement Committee of School Council and have included topics such as Student Leadership, the Disability Inclusion Program and the School Wide Positive Behaviour School (SWPBS) initiative.

The results of our Parent Survey last year also influenced our decision to join the SWPBS. This is a long term initiative, and we are in the research and planning phase at the moment.

Completing the 2023 Survey

Tomorrow all families will receive a COMPASS Notification which will provide you a link to the survey and the PIN required to access our school's survey.  All the instructions on completing the survey will be included.
