Year 2 & 4

This week we have enjoyed a continuation of our soccer theme. On Wednesday we played World Cup Sphero Soccer. After activating the sphero’s we set them to green for Australia or blue for England. Before the match started we practiced aiming and driving the sphero’s around the classroom. We had a few rogue sphero’s who were caught speeding and going in the wrong direction but everyone soon learnt to drive responsibly (well, almost everybody!) 

For the Sphero soccer match we set masking tape lines out on the carpet for the field. Working in pairs, the match proved to be very challenging. Under pressure to push the ball towards the goals the Sphero drivers went in all directions. Spatial awareness will be an upcoming topic! The final result was Sphero England 2 d Sphero Australia 1.
