WHOLE SCHOOL SWIMMING

& WATER SAFETY PROGRAM - Weeks 7 & 8

BEGINS ON MONDAY!

This coming Monday is Day 1 of our 9-day Whole School Swimming program at the BlueFit Swim School in Sandringham.  Please ensure you have accepted the Operoo permission email or have emailed your child’s teacher in regards to their participation.  It’s vital that all children come to school each day prepared for these swimming lessons, so we ask that you please read over all information shared in the Operoo email.  Note: All students are required to attend.   Spectators welcome:  the pool has wonderful spectator stands for family members to come along and view  their child swim.  Please assist Swim Instructing staff by staying off the busy pool deck area.

*ImportantSWIMMING CAPS are COMPULSORY.

All 2023 Prep students and new students to the school this year have now received a school house cap (these may also be used for these swim lessons).  Replacement house-coloured caps for all other students may also be purchased from the office.  A list what to wear and bring for the lessons can be found within the Operoo.

Note: Googles are also COMPULSORY, so please ensure your child has a suitable set for this program.

AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE!

Green & Gold for our Matilda’s.

Our students had a fabulous day of fun dressing up in a touch of green and gold to support our Matildas soccer team’s semi final efforts on Wednesday!  Splashes of green and gold were adorned; with many students wearing soccer jerseys, hair ribbon colours, socks, hats, touches of face-paint and soooo many Aussie scarves! It was also great to see so many staff wearing their Aussie colours as well!

DISTRICT ATHLETICS - Friday 25th August

Our Athletics team is finalised now and we have a team of 79 students representing our school at the upcoming Dendy District Athletics carnival on Friday 25th August.  We wish our team members all the very best as they prepare for their event/s. This year the Dendy Athletics carnival is being held at Duncan McKinnon Reserve in Murrumbeena.  All team member families will have received an Operoo permission and information email last week.  We ask that each family takes the time to sit down with their child and read over all details for the day; especially the SSV rules for their respective track &/or field events; as well as the Dendy Code of Conduct.

A reminder to all of our Athletics team members to please accept the Operoo permission and read over all rules for the events your child is in.  Eighty Year 3-6 students will represent our school at next Friday at the Dendy District Athletics carnival at Duncan McKinnon Athletics Track.  We wish our team members all the very best for their final week of training.

PLEASE HELP! - MORE PARENT HELPERS REQUIRED.

We are in desperate need of more parent helpers to help run both triple jump pits on this day.  We’d appreciate even 1 hour or 1.5 hours if you are able to assist.

Please email Tania with your availability or tick the helper section within the Operoo email.  Tania will be in contact with you to confirm your availability and share Triple Jump official procedures for the event.  MANY THANKS!
