What a busy and exciting start we have had in Term 3 so far!
Prep B has had a busy and exciting start to Term 3! It is hard to believe that the Preps have now completed 100 days of school. All year we have been counting down and anticipating our 100th day and it finally arrived, with the whole school celebrating with us!
Our 100th Day celebration commenced with parents and the school community assembling in the hall to celebrate. The Preps paraded down the stage, dressed up in elderly and 100 themed costumes in front of proud parents, teachers and students.
The whole school participated in Maths games based on the number 100 in multi level age groups in different classrooms.
In the middle of the day, Preps continued with their celebrations, participating in activities highlighting the number 100. The children completed maths puzzles, posed with a photo booth and the most popular activity was making fairy bread with 100’s and 1000’s and eating it!
The day concluded with a fun party. There was no doubt that there were some very weary and ‘old’ looking Prep children and teachers at the end of our ‘100th Day’ celebration!
During our Inquiry activities, the Prep students designed and crafted their very own sock puppets. These puppets have proven to be wonderful tools for teaching important life lessons about kindness and fairness. By using these sock puppets, we've embarked on a journey of learning how to treat others with compassion and equality.
As we move forward, the students will continue to explore the power of role-playing and puppetry. Through these imaginative puppet shows, we will delve into the themes of inclusion and kindness and how we can be a wonderful friend to others.
Prep students deserve heartfelt congratulations for their outstanding portrayal of ladybugs in the recent whole school production. Their remarkable performance on stage was matched only by their impeccable conduct both on and off stage. This was a huge undertaking for the students and their dedication and hard work they put into bringing their ladybug characters to life truly shone through. I am sure in years to come they will always remember their very first performance of their school production.
The recent Prayers in Pyjamas event on Tuesday evening was met with much excitement among the Prep students. Donning their pyjamas and onesies for a night at school added to the anticipation. The evening centered around the Parable of the Banquet, a story about accepting and including others. The students have been learning that everyone is special in their own way, and these differences should be celebrated to ensure everyone feels happy and comfortable, regardless of appearance, background, or interests.
This term has been full of exciting firsts, and it's clear that there are many more wonderful experiences awaiting the students throughout the remainder of term 3!
