Charity Fete

On Friday, 8th September, Year6 students held their annual Charity Fete to raise money for St Vincent De Paul and Caritas Australia ! The year level was split into 13 different groups and each group worked together to make a stall. All these different stalls had an assortment of games and prizes! These games ranged from nerf games, to guessing games, raffles, basketball and a photo booth. There were also many different types of things for sale, including origami, crochets, scrunchies and bracelets! Then, one by one all the grades (and parents) went to the performing arts to go through and explore all the different stalls and their unique things on display. The parents were the first lucky people to enjoy and experience the hard work and determination of the Year 6s. We also had a monster raffle which was a whole school raffle where teachers, students and parents could purchase raffle tickets at the chance of winning one of the 11 prizes. The Year 6s worked really hard to get their products and stalls done in the weeks prior and turned out with amazing achievements, including raising $4921. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.

Preparation
Throughout the whole of term three, the Year 6s put hard work and determination into making the 2023 Charity Fete the best there is! At first, all the Grade 6 Students had a meeting with all the Grade 6 teachers and peers. That’s when they announced all the groups and had 1 of the 3 different teachers be our supervising teacher for all the Charity Fete related things. There were 13 different groups that had between 5 to 7 students in each individual group. They all had to work together to make a theme for their stall and a name. We also completed a budgeting plan, SWOT analysis, made marketing and advertising decisions, learned about financial maths and worked together as a group. Each stall used the different strengths that their group members had and made great use of them. They all started making products and games with all their might and their determination made it very beneficial for them. They also had a budget of around $50 which proved to be helpful when they got many of their supplies from their budget. The student’s all made a shopping list for items they required to run their stalls. This helped the children to develop many different money related skills. Even though it was a hard process, we all enjoyed the different things we experienced and learned about during the Charity Fete.
