Spiritual Connections

This week we celebrate fathers and father figures.

How do we recognise the father figure in our lives. Jesus was the Son of God.  Imagine what that relationship was like.  Imagine the debates, quarrels and banter.

Joseph was Jesus’s earthly father.  Imagine what that relationship was like.  Imagine the debates, quarrels and banter.  We know from scripture that Joseph would have been like any other dad of his time.  He worked. He spent time with his family. They ate together prayed together and did the typical things that families did during that time.  Joseph and Mary lost Jesus at one point.  Have you ever lost your child? At a shopping centre, a community event or while at the park?  Imagine the fear, worry and distressed.

In our reading of scripture, we learn that God, our heavenly father, loves us unconditionally.  Makes no judgements and accepts us wart and all. We know that God forgives us – always, no questions asked.  Jesus’s greatest commandment is to us was ‘to love one another, as I have loved you!’  How do you show your love for one another?  Are you ready to forgive?
