School Council

Items discussed at meeting 09.08.23

School council met on Wednesday the 9th of August. We welcomed six parent visitors from the school community who were all keen to observe the meeting.

Key items discussed:

- The findings of the survey to parents/families were presented and discussed.

A  summary of results will be shared with the school community shortly. We thank all who participated and provided valuable input.

- The ongoing issues with the current school toilet facilities were discussed including vaping, damage and reluctance of some students to use the facilities. Council explored ways to address these issues and support the school with solutions. The council is hopeful there will be improvements in this area.

- The artificial intelligence (AI) policy and uniform policy were presented and reviewed by council.

- A plan to make the sports shed more usable by removing existing asbestos products was approved This is much needed and we thank Chris Greenhalgh for his time and effort leading this.

- A grant from Bendigo is to be used to fund new lockable lockers. Quotes have been sourced for this project.

- Sarah presented her assistant principals report and updated council on student wellbeing initiatives and upcoming programs for all year levels.

-The Warm up for Winter raffle raised $835. The funds have gone a long way to purchase new appliances which are now being used in The Cafe'. School council thank the school community for their assistance with selling, buying tickets and donating items for the raffle.

The next school council meeting will be held at 6pm on Wednesday the 30th of August. All welcome. Any items that you wish to be discussed please contact a school council rep or forward any items for discussion to the school.
