Bombers - A Reward for Effort!

This week we would like to take the opportunity to congratulate our Year 7/8/9 students who play for the Dederang - Mount Beauty Football Club Under 14's who are undefeated this season and on their way to the finals.

On the Ground:

Saturday the 12th of August - Dederang - Mount Beauty Football Club Under 14's took to the road to take on Rutherglen for their second last game before finals.

Rutherglen came out firing scoring the first goal with a warning to the Bombers that they would not give up the match easily on home soil.

The coaches pump up talks are second to none and at quarter time they asked the team to Dig deep and keep trying:, and with a few positional changes, the boys were away. Our backs were again solid. Jacob turned off the scoring tap with some great one on one defending.

The centres had the heaviest of feet, running through the mud...all except Darcy who ran a vintage "Mick Mcguane" 4 bounces out of defence and slamming the ball into our attack.

In what was a nail biting, heart stopping game with each team throwing everything into it  the Bombers came home with the win and proudly sung the team song!

DMB: 2-8-20

Ruth: 2-4-16

The under 14's are on top of the ladder with 14 undefeated wins and 0 losses, they are looking down the barrel of finals. Our own Jai Redmond is also the leading goal scorer for the competition.

Background: This group was established by our own teacher Brad Redmond who started coaching this team in 2018. The team got flogged each game and it took all of the first season to kick one goal, in the last game of the year.

The team won their first game in 2021...their first win in 4 years!

The culture that has been created in the under 14's is unbelievable and the role modelling of our coaches Brad Redmond and Aaron Lutter-wood is of the highest standard. The team motto is Reward for Effort...and so it seems it does!

Go Bombers!
