A Wonderful Month with Rinka Yoshihara - Our Japanese Language Assistant

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We were fortunate to have had Rinka Yoshihara with us for an entire month, enriching our Japanese program as a dedicated language assistant. Her presence has left an indelible mark on our school community, and we wanted to take a moment to share some highlights of her time here.

She assisted students in various grade levels with their Japanese language learning journey.

During Rinka's stay, one of the standout experiences was her involvement in our traditional brush calligraphy activities. With her help, students could explore the delicate art of brushwork with both water and ink. These activities would not have been as successful without the additional assistance she provided. Students who attended Japanese classes learned the technical aspects of using a brush and the significance of starting each stroke with precision. These moments of focused concentration, as black ink gracefully flowed onto special calligraphy paper, were truly special and allowed our students to experience the beauty of Japanese culture firsthand.

We would like to thank the Lipson family (Erez PC) and the Hughes family (Felix 6D) for their generous hospitality. They graciously hosted Rinka for two weeks each and took her to explore the sights and attractions in and around Melbourne. These experiences undoubtedly enriched Rinka's stay and allowed her to immerse herself in the vibrant culture of our beautiful city.

Rinka thoroughly enjoyed her first visit to Melbourne and has expressed a deep desire to return in the future. We warmly thank our students and staff members for their kindness and unwavering support during Rinka's stay. Your hospitality made her feel truly welcome, and your willingness to embrace cultural exchange is a testament to the spirit of our school community.

In closing, we want to say "Arigato gozaimasu" or "Thank you very much" to Rinka Yoshihara for her contribution to our school. Her presence has left a lasting positive impact on our Japanese program and our students' understanding of the Japanese language and culture.

We look forward to future cultural exchange and growth opportunities within our school community.

Warm regards,
