We turn our hearts and minds to the people of the Yorta Yorta nation, who have occupied this country for thousands of years.
We pay respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging, and commit to walking alongside Aboriginal Australians in truth and justice.
From September 1st to October 4th, the Catholic community celebrates the Season of Creation by praying and acting together to protect our common home.
Pope Francis has established Friday 1st September as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, encouraging the Catholic community around the world to pray for our common home.
The day is inspired by Pope Francis' landmark encyclical Laudato Si’, which calls on "every person living on this planet" to care for our shared Earth.
There are many ways we as a community of St Luke's can respond to Pope Francis’ call to care for the gift of God’s creation. In the coming weeks learning communities will spend some time thinking about God’s creation.
Pope Francis' A Prayer For Our Earth
Having gratitude means that you are thankful to God and others for the good things in your life and look for the good side in every situation.
You say thank you to people when they help you and don't take your friends, parents or teachers for granted.
