Father's Day

Friday morning was delightful as we opened our classroom doors to welcome all the fathers and special friends. It's a heart-warming experience when students have the chance to invite their beloved family members and friends into the classroom to showcase their work and collaborate. Thank you to everyone who joined us in the classrooms, bringing smiles to their children's faces. We hope that our dads, uncles, and grandfathers enjoyed a magical day this past Sunday.

Peter Pan- Sneak Peek

At Sacred Heart, our Peter Pan production has been a labour of love. With just a couple of days left until showtime, our grade 3’s and 4’s have been working extremely hard. They've been honing their dance moves and learning all of their songs off by heart. They are eagerly looking forward to sharing all of the hard work at the performance on Wednesday and Thursday night!

See you there!

Maths

Mrs Grochal has been doing an outstanding job teaching our year 4 students all about geometric shapes, irregular shapes, as well as the concepts of area and volume. In our recent lesson, students engaged in hands-on learning by constructing a variety of shapes using Unifix blocks and then calculated their volume.

Footy Colours Day

Whether you're a passionate Essendon fan or a staunch supporter of Collingwood, Footy Day presents an excellent opportunity to proudly display your support to your beloved team. It was a fantastic experience as we showcased our favourite team's jerseys and engaged in lively conversations about everything related to football. Students enthusiastically made predictions about who they think will win the grand final and completed footy based maths questions.  We had a fantastic day and we were amazed by the sportsmanship shown by every student.

Literacy

The Year 4 students proudly displayed their dedication to the Writing Revolution program, highlighting their improved sentence structure as they completed their Comparative Judgement writing assignment. Reading their stories, all inspired by a single image prompt, was a delightful experience. Witnessing the noticeable progress in so many students shows the effort they've invested into this new program.

Well done to all grade 4 students!
