Time flies when you’re having fun! Term 3 has been jam-packed full of activities, events and exciting visitors for the Prep students. 

Throughout Oatlands Book Week, the Prep students participated in so many fun activities! We explored the school yard to find the pages of the story ‘Lunch on a Pirate Ship’, attended an incursion from Perform! Education and had a very special visitor - Nicky Johnson! Nicky is a children’s book author and illustrator. She helped us illustrate our very own soft toy that we have at home. At the end of Book Week, some brave Prep students volunteered to speak at assembly to share what we learned about our focus text ‘Bev and Kev’ - well done Cleo, Viraaj, Harper and Harvey!

We had such a blast on Grandparents Day, showing our special visitors around our classroom and doing fun activities with them such as board games, reading and colouring in!

To celebrate Father’s Day, we welcomed the Prep Dads and special visitors into our classroom after their presentation from Billy Brownless. Our dads helped us do fun activities in the classroom such as making superhero masks, drawing portraits of each other, reading books, and creating pictures with colour by numbers.

Next week we are super excited to be going to our very first excursion. We are heading to TWISTED Science to ignite our curiosity, and creativity and stimulate learning through STEM powered fun! At the end of next week, we are so excited to be attending our first Oatlands School Disco! We can’t wait to show off our dance moves!

The Prep students have made so much growth since the beginning of the year! It is crazy to think that their first year of school is almost over!!
