Year Six
Dear Year 6 Families,
Who can believe that we are almost at the end of term three? After all the hard work put into completing exhibition, a well deserved break for our students is almost within reach!
EXHIBITION
Over the past few weeks, the year 6 building was transformed into a mini-museum, as the students put together all their research and action pieces.
The exhibition is a significant event that happens during a student’s final year of primary school and throughout this journey, students were required to identify, investigate and offer solutions to real life issues or problems. Students were excited to showcase their learning and they all presented their work with pride to our Saltwater community.
Throughout the exhibition journey, our students displayed all of the attributes of the learner profile which is evident in the level of work they produced and the commitment the demonstrated throughout the t.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, students got to showcase all their learning throughout the Primary Years Program, engaging with teachers, younger students, and even a Parliament member or two!
Throughout the three days, students enthusiastically presented their action and got to speak with special guests such as our Wyndham City Mayor, Susan McIntyre, Matthew Hilakari of the Labor Party and Dr Samantha Ratnam, leader of the Greens Party. During this time they were able to listen, ask questions and learn something new from our students!
Wednesday evening saw proud parents, guardians, and community members experience the students confident presentations, and strong public speaking skills. Their enthusiasm when presenting their findings was exceptional to see, and is a highlight of our Year 6 Program for students, parents, guardians and teachers alike.
Our Year Six students should all be very proud of what they have achieved. From here, we encourage them to continue using their voice to make positive change in our ever changing world.
