ACTING PRINCIPAL REPORT

There has been a lot happening in the student and wellbeing space at BSC. Thank you to our Kirby House Leaders, Daisy Moore & Frances O’Driscoll, and our Kirby House teacher Jessica Ruan, who organised and ran the Kirby house theme day last week. It was great to see our students and staff engage in the theme and wear purple or rainbow coloursThis student led theme day aimed to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for our students.

This is part of what schools do every day in creating an environment where all students feel welcome and can participate freely and equally in all areas of life, regardless of their background, characteristics or beliefs.

Our College Captains, Jenson, Jess and Jayden have been working behind the scenes on the BSC student podcast and have recently formed a podcast committee. This wonderful initiative of the student podcast is to inform students of upcoming events, current events and promote the variety of opportunities provided in the school. I would like to acknowledge and thank the members of the committee who are putting many hours of preparation into the podcast, Flynn Henderson, Angad Singh Thankur, Ronnie Stolyarov, Sabian Nuttall, Abi McCarroll, Oliver Cordover and Zaina Amro. I know our students are enjoying the podcasts and listening to a range of students and teachers being interviewed.

A huge amount of planning and effort has gone into our school production, ‘Lost in Greece’, which opened this week and has been a huge success! A wonderful effort by our Year 10 students Ruby Krug and Thaya Kovaleva who wrote and produced the show, supported by Ms Campion. The talent of all of our students is exceptional from acting, singing, dancing, and our instrumental students performing all of the music, and we have many students and staff behind the scenes (make up, sound and lightening, back stage) who have all worked together to put on a wonderful performance! I would like to thank all of our students for getting involved, it was wonderful to see students from each year level perform.
