JANE MOLONEY - READING AWARD

Each semester we like to acknowledge our most prolific readers in Yrs 7, 8 and 9, so we give a certificate and a book voucher from our local book store in Bentleigh – Benn’s Books – to three students who have borrowed and read the most books according to our library catalogue.

The reading award is named after Jane Moloney, who worked in our library for many years before sadly passing away in 2020. She would have loved having her name attached to this award.

This Semester we are overjoyed to give one of the awards to Will McGarvie of Yr 9. He decided to take part in the Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge and has shown such a commitment to reading that he is going to ‘over-achieve’.

He aims to read 17 books instead of the required 15 by early September. The number of books that Will reads has grown exponentially in the last few months and we are so pleased to acknowledge that achievement.
