Classroom News

This is what our students have been up to this week.

The Gruffalo's Child stage show

On Tuesday students in years Prep through to 2 went into Wodonga so see The Gruffalo's Child at The Cube.  We had the best seats in the house, up on the balcony, from which to view the play, but also to keep an eye on the big....bad.....mouse!  Snake, Owl and Fox took us on a fun journey with their cheeky antics around the little gruffalo. "You're not the Mouse"......"Too-Whoo, not I"....."but he's nearby, eating Gruffalo Pie!"

The Gruffalo Child unclenched her fist. "The Big Bad Mouse - so he does exist!" The mouse hopped into the hazel tree. He beckoned, then said, "Just wait and see."

After the production we took a short bus trip to Norielle Park in Albury to enjoy our lunch in the sun and have a play at playground before our return to school.

The Young Mob Collective.

Yesterday a few of our students attended an event hosted by The Alpine Shire, The young mob collective.  Along with Carolyn , they spent the day in Bright, one of our students, Lawson, was excited to share his experiences today with his class.

Indigenous games and reading in 3/4K with Lawson

Today Lawson shared with our class what he did at Bright yesterday.  We have been reading lots of indigenous Australian texts and discussing how for Indigenous Australians these stories are recounts (genre). Today we read 'How the kangaroos got their Tails' as told by George Mung Mung Lirrmiyarri.Lawson then took our class out to the soccer field to play some of the Indigenous games he learnt (modified with hoops and balls of different sizes).
