This term, Year 9 Engineering students have been busy designing, building, and racing their own CO₂ powered dragsters. As part of their learning about aerodynamics and forces, students explored important concepts like friction, drag, thrust, and propulsion.
Using lightweight materials and simple tools, students brought their ideas to life and tested how design choices impact the speed and performance of their dragsters. The project was a great way for students to use their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork in a fun and practical way.
The highlight of the term was race day, where students competed in time trials to see whose dragster was the fastest. The spirit of friendly competition was high, and it was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm and pride in their projects.
