Sport Choices - Sport in Schools
During the past week sport choices have been completed for Years 7-10. Sport will commence as per sport selected on the first Thursday in Term 3.
Sport in Schools - Gymnastics
We are very excited to announce that we have secured a sport in schools grant for Term 3. We have been very fortunate this year to have had sport in schools grants for both Term 1 and Term 2. During Term 1 Year 7 were involved in an AFL program whilst during Term 2 the Year 7 students have enjoyed a Cricket program. Our Term 3 grant is allocated for a Gymnastic program to be conducted at the Muswellbrook PCYC by qualified coaches. There are 20 places available for interested students commencing in Term 3, Week 2 until the end of term. Initially the program was open to Years 7 & 8 , however, this has now been extended to also be inclusive to Years 9 & 10. If students are interested in the program they are to collect a note from Mrs Tilse and return signed to school. The first 20 students to return the note will be included. All costs including transport, coaches and PCYC membership will be covered by the grant.
Athletics
The Girls High Jump was conducted last Thursday during sport. An overview of results was announced at the assembly on Friday including house champion and age champions. A full presentation including record breakers will be held next term. Congratulations to all students for their participation and support at the carnival. The Schools Athletic Team has been selected for the Diocesan Carnival to be held at Glendale on 20 August. The Athletic Team is displayed on the sport noticeboard for all students to check so as entries can be finalised at the beginning of next term. Once finalised a Compass notification with all details will be published. It is most important if students cannot attend that they inform Mrs Tilse as soon as possible.

Congratulations to Macey C who recently played in the NSWCCC U18 Girls Rugby 7’s team. Macey enjoyed a very competitive championship with the NSWCCC team being placed 3rd overall. The exciting news is that Macey has been selected in the NSW All Schools U18 Rugby 7’s Girls team to play in the National Championships on the Sunshine Coast in the school holidays. This is a fantastic achievement following her previous selection in both the NSWCCC Open Touch Football and Ruby 7’s teams. Congratulations!
