Parent Opinion Survey for 2025

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025. Further information for this survey will be issued to all families on Monday morning.

We look forward to getting your contribution.

Congratulations

Performance Showcase: what a wonderful night, full of amazing individual and group performances - what a talented bunch of students we have at this school. Thank you to all the staff that assisted on the night, in particular to Mrs Elise Pratt that lead the way in producing this event.

Wakakirri: every second year when we do Wakakirri is always so exciting and it was again wonderful to see so many students on stage for our performance last Tuesday night. The production was stunning, clearly the highlight of the night. And the judges feedback was outstanding. Thanks to many people, but particularly to Miss Suw Ward and Mrs Carla Wyllie, the drive and inspiation behind our production - amazing teachers. Fingers crossed that we get to performa at the Awards Night.

Promotional Video - Lucas W (3W) - please have a look at the Success Stories page on the newsletter - this is a must watch. Not only is the message in the story compelling, it features one of our own in one of the acting parts. A talented young man involved in an important project.

Lots to come - heaps of sport, camps, JP Racing and concert planning underway..........

Important Reminders / notes:

Safe Road Crossing: I would like to thank Fatma, our Crossing Supervisor, for her care and dedication to the job every morning and afternoon. However there are occasions when Fatma is not available. Please be assured that we are always chasing a repacement if Fatma is absent, however this is not always available. Unfortunately the Education Department is quite specific that school staff are NOT permitted to suparvised school crossings - we have neither the training or the insurance cover. That means occasionally the crossing is unsupervised. We understand the dangers and this can be frustrating for parents. We will endeavour to inform parents is the crossing is unsupervised and we ask drivers to please be safe and patient.

Reconcilliation Action Plan (RAP): Again, calling on any parent that might be interested in contributing to the development of our RAP. This is an important document for all schools to have and we would like community consultation.

Triple P Parent Survey

We’re inviting all parents to take part in a quick survey to help us tailor the support and resources offered by our Wellbeing Support, Laura. Whether you're navigating children's behaviours, managing childhood anxiety, or just looking for ways to strengthen resilience, we want to know what matters most to you.

  • What topics would you like Laura to cover?
  • What kind of information, times and format works best for your busy life?

Your feedback will directly shape future sessions and resources.

Scan the QR code to have your say and make your voice heard. It only takes a minute—and your input makes a big difference. More information can be found in the newsletter on the JPPS Wellbeing page

Thank you for helping us support families better, together!

Safe Crossings, Safe kids

The Department of Transport and Planning has launched a new road safety initiative for school crossings.

The Safe crossings, safe kids initiative -

  • reminds road users of the special road rules that apply at school crossings
  • promotes 8 safe behaviours at school crossings for drivers
  • outlines how to identify a school crossing.

Our wonderful

crossing supervisor on Petronella Ave is Fadma. Please observe the key points below to help Fadma keep JPPS students safe.

  • Slow down around school crossings at a speed slow enough to stop safely, if necessary.
  • Stop if a hand held “Stop” sign is displayed and you must give way when school crossings flags are displayed.
  • Stop and wait until the school crossing is clear of all pedestrians including supervisors.
  • Stop if a child or adult is about to cross or is crossing, even if there is no crossing supervisor.
  • Never overtake a vehicle stopping or stopped at the crossing.
  • Never let children get in or out of your vehicle when stopped waiting at a school crossing.
  • Respect School Crossing Supervisors, they’re trained to support children’s safety.
  • Always watch out for children near schools and if you see a school crossing, use it.
