Book Week 2025 - Save the date!

Book an Adventure

We're very excited to be celebrating Children’s Book Week this year. Our Book Week Parade will be happening on Monday week 5, the 18th of August at 8.45-9.15am.

Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. If students are dressing up, we ask that they also have a copy of the book that their character appears in, or a copy of the front cover of the book will also be accepted.

Please note, we do not expect you to spend a lot of money on costumes. Get creative, using items that you may already have, or try your local op shop. You can also find some great simple ideas online at sites like Pinterest.

There will also be a designated area for parents to come and watch if you are able.

Keep your eye out for other special Book Week events and activities in the weeks to come!

Learning Enrichment Expo

Our eagerly anticipated Learning Enrichment Expo returns in Week 4.

Join us for an afternoon designed to connect, inform, and inspire on Wednesday 13 August from 2.30pm - Pop it in your calendar!

Father's Day Stall

The Fathers’ Day Stall is fast approaching and will be held in Week 6 this year on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th August. This is earlier than previous years. It will be a week and a bit before Fathers’ Day due to the special Junior Primary Musical being held in Week 7, just prior to Fathers’ Day.

The planning team are now looking for volunteers for the stall.

If you're keen to help, we are looking for:

  • People to volunteer and serve at the stall.

Dates of the stall are:

Wed August 27th 1105am – 3pm (with lunch break)

Thurs August 28th 850am – 2pm (with morning tea and lunch break)

Please consider when you will be able to help and take note of the time slots on the attached volunteer form which will also be sent home in blue bags soon with the eldest child of each family. Please return this form if you’d like to volunteer, thank you.

Please take note that you will need to have completed all the volunteer requirements for school to be part of this special event.

We are now happily collecting any home-made donations to sell too for the Fathers’ Day Stall.

Please have these dropped off to school Wednesday Week 5 and please communicate prior to the event with what you hope to donate, to Rachael Richards - r_haaren@hotmail.com

Thank you for your contribution, we look forward to another successful Father's Day Stall event!

Scholastic Book Club Issue 5

Scholastic Book Club Issue 5 catalogues have been sent home with students this week.

Scholastic apps are available to download for both Apple and Android devices to make ordering through the Loop system easier.

There is the option to mark your purchases as GIFTS. When these books arrive, you will be contacted directly, rather than books going home with students.

Please also note that some titles offered, differ from the Christian ethos followed by the school.

As cash orders are not accepted by the school, orders will need to be placed via LOOP by Thursday 31st July 2025.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Considering Endeavour College for Secondary School?

Families with students in Years 4-6 looking ahead to secondary education are encouraged to consider Endeavour College, our Connected Schools partner. Good Shepherd students receive priority consideration for enrolment at Endeavour, however, this does not guarantee a place.

We strongly encourage families to submit applications early to avoid disappointment, as places are filling quickly. Early enrolment ensures your child is best positioned for a smooth transition to secondary school, and particularly Endeavour College.

Step Up to First Communion

Young people aged around 10 years, together with their parents/caregivers, are invited to take part in our Step Up program to prepare for Holy Communion. Taking the approach that parents/ carers are the primary faith developer in their children, Step Up is designed to support parents/carers in preparing their child for Holy Communion.

This course will be offered in Term 3 over 4 consecutive Friday nights (August 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd). The actual Step Up service will take place on August 24th at 10.30 am. If you are interested, please contact Georgie by this coming Sunday at the latest (as our gatherings begin next week).
