Literacy and Numeracy

Congratulations
This year we had two students who chose to complete the International Maths Challenge. Two students, Oliver V (Year 2) and Nathan S (Year 3), have achieved outstanding success.
Oliver Van Vuuren has been awarded the title of Champion, and Nathan Sebastian has been awarded the title of Elitist.
In this Challenge:
- Students scoring above the 95th percentile are recognised as Champions.
- Those scoring between the 80th and 95th percentile are awarded the title of Elitist.
Congratulations to both of these students.
Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge
Congratulations to 19 students from Years 1-4 who have completed the Reading Challenge this year. There's still plenty of time to enjoy reading and complete the challenge by the end of August.
Children’s Book Week 2025 takes place in August and with the theme of Book an Adventure there are plenty of adventure-filled titles on the PRC book list-here are some to explore:
Snap – Anna Walker
The Lost Library – Jess McGeachin
Mr Chicken Goes to Paris – Leigh Hobbs
The Bad Guys series – Aaron Blabey
The Midwatch – Judith Rossell
The Isles of the Gods – Amie Kaufman
To log into the Challenge go to https://vprc.eduweb.vic.gov.au/home
Go to Student login, then VPRC login and follow the prompts.
Book Covering
If any parents are able to help with book covering we would really appreciate it. Please see Louise Matthews or Jo Matarazzo, in the Library.
