Confirmation Retreat Day
Last Friday, our Year 6 students participated in a special Confirmation Retreat Day at St John’s. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to reflect on their faith, deepen their understanding of the Sacrament of Confirmation, and prepare spiritually for this important milestone in their journey as young Catholics.
During the day, Bishop Les Tomlinson spoke to the students, who also learnt about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, spent time reflecting and praying, and completed a beautiful art piece connected to their Confirmation journey. They had the chance to ask thoughtful questions, as well as meet and spend time with students from St John’s.
Thank you to the staff, parish team, and Bishop Les for helping to make the day such a meaningful and memorable experience for our Year 6 students.
The highlights of the day - By Lotte and Elle
On our Retreat Day we practised going up to the altar and what we have to say on the day. We loved when we did our stained glass art. We drew on the glass with coloured sharpies, then we crinkled silver foil and unwrapped it and put it on the back of the glass. They looked amazing and we can’t wait to see them displayed at our Confirmation.Families made banners to be hung up at the St John's church. We put time and effort into them and they look terrific.
Please keep our Year 6 students in your prayers as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation
