Principal's Post

Dear Families,

Last week our Prep students celebrated their 100 Days of School with a day full of joy, learning, and laughter! The day kicked off with 100 storiessongs, 100's and 1000's and counting our 100 special things from home. They loved spending time with their Grade 6 buddies and proudly received their 100 Days certificates.

I tried to join in the fun and dressed as the famously grumpy,  Mr Fredricksen from Up.

Our Prep team of  Miss Darvell, Mrs Butler, Mrs Broderick, Janelle and Daniella have done such a wonderful job in helping our Preps settle into St James over the past 100 days. It has been a testament to their dedicated hard work that our delightful students are so confident, well adjusted and eager to learn.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the day one to remember, especially the parents who embraced the dress up theme with such creativity and enthusiasm.

Years 4 & 5 - Emmaus Production excursion

This week the Grade 4 and 5 students were guests of Emmaus College at their concert production of 'Cinderella' at The Round Theatre in Mitcham. One of the stars of the show was former St.James student Cooper Dawson in the lead role of the 'Prince'.  Other St James past students who starred in the production were Montana Spezza who played a variety of characters and Tate Edwards who was part of the production team. Well done! All the St James kids were very proud of you!

St James P&F Major Social Event

What a fabulous night it was for many parents on Saturday night at our annual Major Social event in our Community Centre. The many hours put into organising, preparing raffles and decorations, setting up and packing up paid off with the great success of the evening. Highlights of the evening included; clever costumes, delightful dancing, fabulous food, wraffle winners, marvellous music and most importantly serious socialising.

And of course, a huge thank you to our Grade 2 champions — Rachel,Ben, Stef, Stefan, Cat, Cecilia, Carly, Ginta, Anoushka and Megan — for all the behind-the-scenes magic that made everything come together so beautifully. Your dedication and hard work made this night such a great success.

A note from our wonderful event organisers:

What an incredible night at Wild West Night! We had so much fun, and it wouldn’t have been the same without all of you who came out to join the festivities. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously donated wine for the raffle — your support made it even more special. Huge shout-out to the amazing Kristen Height for being our MC extraordinaire, and a big thank you to Ben Sinclair for his hard work in getting the hall ready for the event.
