Welcome

In this final edition of MY FUTURE Careers News for Term 2, the emphasis is on Open Day offerings for tertiary institutions, as well as School Holiday experiences at places such as Latrobe University, where you can undertake “Experience Latrobe” or attend Science Days and even Tech and Trade Days at Swinburne.

The Open Day Guide for universities Australia-wide is available on CLC Connect.

Several students attended the Tech and Trade Fit Expo at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre earlier this term. Whilst there, they were able to experience a range of technology careers and trades that are traditionally directed to males. Students were able to undertake building brick walls, solder wires in electrical circuits and participate in other exciting activities.

The Year 10 students were advised this week of the Pathways program, which begins on Day 1of Term 3. The students will have the chance to experience all the VCE subjects on offer and ask VCE teachers questions. There will also be sessions on the VCE Vocational Major (VM) and information on tertiary courses and alternative pathways to senior school success. The students will also visit Deakin University for an immersion experience. This activity will culminate in the Futures Expo, where subjects will be on display and senior teachers will be available to answer questions on the subjects - more information to follow via College Communications.
