The Arts

Welcome everyone back for Term 3! With a new semester brings new art for the students. Prep-2 students will be participating in Drama this term, and the 3-6 students will be participating in both Media Arts and Visual Arts. Read on to see what the students have began to create these past three weeks.

Prep-2

In Drama, students have begun to explore the use of puppets. We have used these puppets as a support to help students change their voice to match different characters, as well as how to move differently around the room. 

In Visual Arts, students have created their own puppets in a range on mediums and styles, including paper bag puppets, colourful hand puppets and marionette dragons. 

3-6

In Media Arts, students have begun to plan a short film project that they will be working on all term. They have explored the different roles involved in creating a film, including director, cinematographer, editor etc. With their story now planned, they are ready to draw storyboards, to help get an idea of how their film will look on screen.

In Visual Arts, students are exlploring the seven elements of art. So far, they have been learning how to use line and shape effectivly to create different feelings and thoughts for their audience.

A reminder that all students need to have brought an art smock or old t-shirt to school that they can wear to art, to help protect their school uniform from some of our messier activities, such as painting, food dye and clay. Thank you.
