Year 5/6 Battle of the Bands 🎶🎷
Last week, the Brooklyn Park Emmaus Year 5/6's showcased what they had learnt after 10 weeks of the music program. Both teams, the Rawkstars and the D'Limanators, showed great teamwork and played in unison, battling out for the win. The concert band made a special appearance, performing well-known songs that inspired students to pursue music in future years at Emmaus.
Some students also took up the challenge of performing duets and trios, which was impressive. Some had never picked up an instrument before the program and managed to perform on stage in front of an audience, showing growth and hard work.
Well done to the Rawkstars for taking out the win, and congratulations to all students on a fantastic music performance!
Year 3/4 Culture Day Celebration
Recently, our Year 3/4 students participated in a wonderful Culture Day to celebrate the rich diversity within our school community. In the lead-up to the event, students explored the various celebrations that are important in their own cultural backgrounds, learning how these special events reflect the values, beliefs, and traditions of their communities.
Each student chose a celebration from their own culture or heritage, ranging from Chinese New Year, Easter, and Christmas around the world to more unique choices like World Pizza Day! They researched what the celebration is about, who takes part, and the ways it is celebrated across different places and families.
Students then created colourful posters that showcased their chosen celebration through images, key facts, and symbols. On Culture Day, they presented their work with confidence and pride to our Junior Primary classes, speaking clearly about what they had discovered and showing great respect and interest as they listened to others share their traditions.
To make the day even more special, many students dressed in clothing that represented their cultural background. The room was filled with colour, excitement, and appreciation for the many ways people celebrate across the world.
It was a joyful day of learning, sharing, and celebrating the things that make each of us unique, as well as the values that connect us all.

Year 3/4s Adventure at Woodhouse
In Week 5, our Year 3/4 students enjoyed an unforgettable camp at Woodhouse Adventure Park.
Across the camp, students embraced every activity, demonstrating courage and teamwork. They zoomed down the Tube Slide, shrieking with delight as they raced their friends. Many showed incredible determination as they tested their strength and problem-solving skills on the Bouldering Wall. In contrast, others eagerly navigated the twists and turns of The Labyrinth, working together to find their way through. Our Disc Golf session brought plenty of smiles and friendly competition, and Challenge Hill pushed students to step outside their comfort zones, conquer obstacles, and discover what they were truly capable of.
It was a joy to watch students encourage one another, offer a helping hand when needed, and celebrate each other's achievements. We were encouraged to see the students show perseverance, kindness, and bravery. We were especially proud to see friendships strengthened and new connections formed as students shared meals, activities, and stories throughout the experience.
