Emmaus Basketball Development Program Vs Emmaus Boomers
Last week, our 7/8 Basketball Development Team got the chance to play off against their peers in a head-to-head showcase game at the Marion YMCA Basketball Courts.
In an effort to give the program more game time to hone and showcase their skills, an Emmaus Boomers team was formed, comprising students outside of the program. A game was played, with the Development program team winning 51-16.
Thank you to the Year 10 students who came out to coach and umpire our teams. We appreciate your efforts and guidance for the younger students.
Emmaus runs Development Programs in Soccer, Netball and Basketball during the winter Terms of the year - keep your eye out to register for next year!

National PE Week at South Plympton Campus
Last week, we wrapped up Emmaus’ very first National PE Week, and our students and staff absolutely smashed it with a huge range of activities throughout the week:
🕺 Monday - Morning Nutbush on the oval, Lunchtime aerobics classes
⚾ Tuesday - Danish Longball, Totem Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee
🧘 Wednesday - Wellbeing & Mindfulness sessions
🏀 Thursday - Basketball Bump / 3-point comps, AFL Target Kicking
🏸 Friday - Health Hustle, Teachers v Students Badminton, F-2 Soccer
A true highlight of the week was the Homegroup running competition, in which students and staff alike could earn points for their class by running laps around the oval during lunchtimes. We’re incredibly proud to share that across both Junior and Secondary School, we ran a total of 14,346 laps, equating to about 2,870km! This is equivalent to running from Adelaide to Byron Bay along the Australian Coastline - what an incredible effort!
It was absolutely a fantastic week of energy, movement, and a wellbeing boost!
