Dear Emmaus families and friends,

As the end of the school year approaches, I have spent some time this week reflecting across 2025 and the word ‘BUILDING’ certainly comes to mind as a somewhat consistent theme!
Faith formation and discipleship of our students is core to our ministry at Emmaus and throughout 2025 we have seen so many of our students take bold steps of faith development and maturation.
This has included our older cohorts initiating and leading their own Bible studies and praise and worship sessions. Similarly, we have seen an increase in interest and participation in our year-long student discipleship program, VetaMorphus, for the commencement of 2026! The future impact of this will transform entire communities for Christ!
Our students have also reached new highs of achievement in areas including sports (winning the 2025 SACSA Rijken Cup) and debating competitions throughout 2025. Our students' overall academic achievement this year also reached new performance levels in 2025, with our average NAPLAN results exceeding the State averages by 12% for the first time. To illustrate how extraordinary this really is, Emmaus’ 2025 average Year 7 NAPLAN score is about the same as the State average Year 9 NAPLAN score (data from the My School website). Truly exceptional!
In summary, in 2025 at South Plympton we:
I’m also excited to share that the College has recently received State Government approval to construct a very large ‘all-weather’ canopy over the southern half of this soon-to-be-completed Sports Courts area. This will be the same elegant design as what we recently installed at our Brooklyn Park campus. This South Plympton version, however, will be about one-third larger than the structure at Brooklyn Park. It will be massive and beautiful!
As was the case for Brooklyn Park, this new South Plympton facility will be a game-changer for us. Not only will it provide all-weather facilities for PE classes (in addition to the gymnasium), but it will also provide similar all-weather recreation and play space for students to utilise at recess and lunch times. This new structure will also provide an all-weather venue large enough for Whole-of-College functions, including assemblies, concerts and community events! Construction of this canopy is scheduled to take place during the first half of 2026. I have included some visuals below of this new facility.
