Principal's Message
Term 4, Week 8
Hi Everyone,
So many exciting things happened last week, I don’t know where to start! Some children complained but I could not have been happier to have mulch spread across all our gardens! Thank you so much to our P&C, who paid for our entire school to be mulched. We desperately needed to improve our soil health, so we can save the trees we have. Slowly but surely, we will start to improve our gardens, but soil health was our first step, thanks P&C!
Speaking of P&C, our next meeting was going to be tomorrow night at 6:30pm but we are postponing it due to the teacher strike which is tomorrow. Our school will be operational tomorrow during the strike but we have sent all families a survey so you can indicate if your child is attending, so that we can organise adequate supervision. Thank you for completing this survey.
Thank you to Mrs Annika Sauvage and Ms Cath Roche, who organised and ran our Book Fair. The kids absolutely loved it, and we all love anything that promotes reading!

Speaking of all things books, this week our Library Monitors will have a very, well-deserved break-up party. I want to thank all of them for truly making our school a better place to be. Our library is a hive of activity every day and the Library Monitors are instrumental in the running of the library. I know Mrs Sauvage and Ms Roche adore them!
Our first 2026 Prep Transition afternoon was last week (with another one this week). Congratulations to Mrs Tara Griffin and the teams she oversees, who organised the whole thing and did a wonderful job of welcoming in our smallest children for next year.
The Music Gala was simply astonishing! There were all our musical groups being showcased at Gala-strings, band, choirs-and it was magnificent. Thank you to our music teachers and Mr Corbett.

The Christian and Catholic RI Puppet Show was a big hit with the children on Friday! This week is our last Religious Instruction classes for the week. A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers that make RI happen in our school, we are so grateful! We will see you all next year.

I had the privilege of listening to leadership speeches and interviewing prospective captains and I have to say, what an outstanding group of people we have in year 5. There are wonderful examples of leadership everywhere you look. Congratulations to all our students who put themselves forward for leadership positions, we are so proud of you.
Congratulations to all our P-3 Merit certificate recipients, there were so many!!

Mozart, the small strings group entertained us on assembly and still had energy to be amazing, after such a big night at Gala. Thank you! This week we will have our senior band & 5/6 choirs performing at our 4-6 Merit Assembly.
Next week are our swimming carnivals but we get a prelude to them this Friday, when the 100m swimming races happen. They are from 1:30-3pm. All the best to our swimmers!
Have a truly wonderful week.
Yours in Education,

Angie Kelly
