2025 Colour Run

OCEAN GROVE PRIMARY SCHOOL
SUMMER SPLASH COLOUR RUN
Friday 5th December, 2025
Information for families
The countdown is on!!! Our OGPS ‘Summer Splash Colour Run’ will be taking place next Friday 5th December on the school oval. This event is a fun and colourful way for students to participate in physical activity, enjoy time together as a school community and raise funds for school improvement. This year all money raised will be going towards purchasing Coviq drinking fountains. These fountains are designed to reduce water waste through sensor technology and encourage the use of reusable drink bottles, cutting down on single-use plastics and supporting healthy hydration. Thank you in advance to our amazing school community for your incredible fundraising efforts for this event. We are extremely grateful.
1. All year levels participate at designated times over the course of the day. Please see the attached run times to find out when your child’s year level will run. Students can complete as many laps as they wish in their allocated time slot.
2. Obstacles will be set up in a circuit around the oval. Year 5and 6 students will be throwing the coloured powder out of containers, from a distance. The powder we use is from Holi Colour. It is the safest, biodegradable, environmentally friendly coloured powder available. It is made from non-toxic food coloured corn starch and uses natural food dyes. Holi Colour is 100% non toxic. Other obstacles are designed to make the students damp so that the colour will stick.
3. CLOTHING: Students need to wear an old, white t-shirt, and old bottoms and shoes to school, to participate in the run. This year we have added a summer theme to our run. Consider adding accessories such as neon or other brightly coloured gear (boardshoards, tutus, socks etc). Students will also need to bring a towel, school uniform and school shoes in a clearly named plastic bag to change into after they complete their run.
5. HATS and SUNGLASSES: Students will be required to wear a hat while they run. It is preferred that an old hat from home is worn. The coloured powder will be thrown at students from the shoulders down, however if your child would like to wear sunglasses, please bring some from home.
6. ICYPOLES: Students will be given an icy pole (Zooper Dooper) at the end of their run. If you do not want your child to have an icy pole please let your child’s classroom teacher know.
7. SENTRAL: Please respond through Sentral if your child will be participating or not. Students not physically participating will be able to watch their year level complete the course.
8. PRIZES: The top 3 fundraisers per class will receive a $25 Rebel Voucher, the top 4-10 fundraisers per class will receive a bouncy ball and the top grade fundraiser will receive a hot chip lunch and an extra hour extended play. Spot prizes will be handed out after the run for the most impressive summer dress up per grade and those giving the run 110%.
Families are warmly welcome to come and watch their children participate. There will be a coffee van set up on the day from 11-12:20pm, for those wishing to purchase a hot drink. If you have any concerns or enquiries please contact the school office.
