Celebrating the growth in our wonderful children on each learning level...
The first days of Prep have been full of excitement, smiles and new discoveries! Our Prep students have been busy getting to know their teachers and classmates, exploring their learning spaces and settling into daily routines. From making new friends to trying new activities, it’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow each day. We’re so proud of how positively our Preps have started their school journey and look forward to an amazing year ahead!

The Year 1 students have made a wonderful start to the school year, settling in beautifully and embracing our Learning to Learn phase with enthusiasm and curiosity. They have shown a positive attitude towards consolidating routines, expectations, and learning experiences, setting them up for success as they move into curriculum content this week. All of the Year 1 teachers are incredibly proud of their efforts so far and are excited for a fantastic year of growth and learning ahead.

Our Year 2 students have made a wonderful start to the school year! During our Learning to Learn phase, students revisited our Big 10 Essential Habits and built strong connections with their classmates, all with bright smiles and enthusiastic attitudes. As part of our focus on the school value of Learning, students identified something they were proud of and did well last year, as well as a goal they would like to improve on this year. These thoughtful activities have set them up beautifully for a successful and positive learning journey in Year 2.

Our Year 3 students have settled in well to the beginning of the school year. During 'Learning to Learn', they have been busy building positive relationships with their new teacher and classmates. They have developed their understanding of the Big 10 Essential Habits, learnt about our new learning programs in Year 3 and practised important routines to help them be organised and focused on learning. They are well on their way to success in Year 3!

The Year 4 students have settled in wonderfully and shown great enthusiasm for their Learning to Learn lessons. They’ve been actively engaged and are already demonstrating the Big 10 Essential Habits every day. Working together to untangle the ‘human knot’ was a fantastic way to build teamwork and communication. Their inspirational Growth Mindset posters have brightened our classroom and serve as great reminders of the positive attitudes we’re striving for in Year 4!

The Year 5 students have had a fantastic start to the year. During the 'Learning to Learn' phase, students have been revising the Big 10 Essential Habits, classroom routines, getting to know their classmates and teachers, and much more! They have enjoyed creating posters and participating in team building games. It has been wonderful creating connections with students across the cohort. The Year 5 teachers are very excited for the year ahead!
Year 6 students have made a great start to their last year of primary school. The last two weeks have been spent revisiting behavioural and social expectations at SMPS, of which students have demonstrated a strong understanding. The Year 6 team has been thrilled with the enthusiasm and readiness to learn that students have shown and are looking forward to a year of learning, fun and many memories for students to carry with them to secondary school.
