DCS Community Picnic
We would love for you to join us on Wednesday, 3rd December for a relaxed community picnic! DCS Community will be gathering outside the paranaple centre before the celebration service, and this will be a great opportunity to connect, share a meal, and enjoy time together to round out a great year.
Bring along your favourite takeaway and come along between 5:00 pm and 5:45 pm for a casual, friendly catch-up. We look forward to seeing you there!
Devonport Christmas Parade – Sunday 7th December
We are excited to come together as a school community to participate in this year’s Devonport Christmas Parade on Sunday 7th December, commencing at 4:00pm.
Our float will be a large truck and trailer with Christmas music playing and banners promoting the Christmas message. We will have some students dressed in costume and sitting on the hay bales.
All DCS community members, staff, students and families are invited to join us and walk alongside our float. Come dressed in your best Christmas outfit to help bring a wonderful sense of Christmas and the Christian message. We will have bags of candy canes and a small gift to hand out and bless children along the way.
Parade Details:
Route: 1.6 km, starting at the corner of Victoria Parade and Parker Street
Meeting Point: Roundhouse Park, opposite the Devonport Fire Station
Arrival Times:
Volunteers on the float: 3:00 pm
Walkers: 3:30 pm
Parade Time: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Parking & Access
Roads across the CBD and waterfront will be closed, so please allow extra time to find parking and walk to our meeting point. Please refer to the map with the blue “P” symbols highlighted - these indicate designated parking areas.
If you can’t locate us, look for a Council representative in high-visibility gear, and they will point you in the right direction.
The parade will be followed by a festive street party from 4:30–6:00 pm, and the Devonport Christmas Carols from 6:00 pm. Our DCS Vocal Ensemble will be performing at the Christmas Carols, and we encourage you to stay and support them as they sing two Christmas carols.
We are so thankful for your participation in these Devonport events. It will be a wonderful afternoon sharing the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus, with Devonport!
Christmas Church Services
At DCS we are privileged to be connected to so many amazing local churches. Christmas is such a special time in our calendar, and we wanted to make sure you knew what was happening in our city, below we have attached a graphic highlighting some of the amazing Christmas Services that are on for the end of 2025 in Devonport.
If you and your family want something special to do this Christmas, then we encourage you to add a new Christmas tradition to your family by to attending one of these amazing uplifting services.

Breakfast Club
Hello DCS Community!We wanted to let everyone know that we have now finished serving breakfast for this term. A massive thank you to all the volunteers who served in this space throughout the year, you have been such a blessing to our students!

Coffee Helpers Wanted!
Hello amazing coffee enthusiasts! DCS Community is looking for passionate volunteers to help out in the Jiloa Café on Assembly days, serving up great coffee and warm smiles to our wonderful community. If you would love to volunteer on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 8:20am to 8:50am, please email jasmin.thompson@dcs.tas.edu.au or contact Jasmin at DCS via Facebook.
Subway & Liv Eat Lunches
DCS Community facilitate the option of Subway lunches for all students each Wednesday and Liv Eat lunches each Friday. Orders are placed via the Canteen Hub website and then delivered to school.
To order either Subway or Liv Eat, please visit: app.canteenhub.com.au
All Subway orders need to be in by 9.30pm Tuesdays and all Liv Eat orders need to be in by 12pm Thursdays to allow plenty of time for orders to be processed.
